From English the word “veneer” is translated as “…..facing, surface polish, gloss”. By its meaning veneer is a front teeth false cover. Nowadays composite materials (the same as composite fillings) and porcelain (ceramics) are mainly used for veneers. Composite veneer can be prepared directly in mouth in one visit (this is direct method), or by taking impressions on the first visit and later preparing at laboratory (indirect method).
Why do I need them?
Rhetorical question. Many people are not satisfied with the color and form of their teeth. If the color is the only concern, this problem is usually solved by bleaching. But if teeth have changed greatly in color, or have incorrect form since birth or in the result of any injury or cavity, than veneer becomes the ideal solution.
